Installing in Sydney
Most of the installs in the portfolio are Sydney jobs, and they are a fair picture of what the city asks for: a designer furniture showroom fit out piece by piece to the brand's own floor plan, a Macquarie Street apartment that was one of the hardest access jobs the team has done, and an executive suite at Randwick Racecourse.
Sydney installs live or die on sequencing. In a CBD or harbourside tower the lift booking is a fixed window that cannot be extended because the trades ran late, so the load is staged at Botany in install order and everything that must go in before a door is hung goes in first. In an Eastern Suburbs or Inner West home the constraint is the opposite: no lift, no dock, a long carry from wherever the truck could legally stop, and the answer is more hands and more time built into the quote rather than found on the day.
Being twenty to forty minutes from most of the city is what makes this workable. Stock is held in our warehouse until the site is genuinely ready, and when a date moves, which it does: it moves without a load already sitting on a highway.
Access in Sydney
Eastern Suburbs streets and driveways
Vaucluse, Bellevue Hill, Woollahra, Paddington and Bondi are narrow, parked out and frequently steep. The truck often cannot get near the door, so the walk-in is part of the job: quoted as part of the job, rather than discovered on the morning.
Terraces and walk-ups
Balmain, Surry Hills, Glebe and Newtown terraces are two and three storeys with a staircase that turns. Whether a sofa makes that turn is a measurement, not an opinion. Send the width of the narrowest point and we will tell you before you buy the piece.
Harbourside and waterfront homes
Waterfront properties from Hunters Hill to Rose Bay routinely have long stair runs down from the street, private lifts or funiculars with tight internal dimensions, and in some cases genuinely no vehicle access at all. These are two-person carries planned in advance, not improvised.
How we work
Site check before the date is locked
Access at both ends, lift bookings and building rules, floor protection required, and what other trades are still on site. An install date agreed without this is a guess.
Staged and sequenced off site
Stock consolidated in our warehouse and loaded in install order, so pieces come off the truck in the order the room needs them rather than the order they arrived from suppliers.
Protection first
Floors, doorframes, lift cars and stair returns protected before anything moves. Retro-fitting protection after the first scratch is not protection.
Common questions
- Do you provide design installation in Sydney?
- Yes. Ateam Logistics provides design installation throughout Sydney, NSW, including Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Inner West. Every job runs with at least two-person handling, and any piece carrying a finish is handled for it.
- What does design installation in Sydney cost?
- Ateam Logistics prices design installation on the work rather than by a fixed rate card, because volume, handling and access change it far more than distance does. Send the details and we come back with a proposal.
- How does Ateam Logistics reach Sydney?
- Sydney is home for Ateam Logistics, and it runs from two sites rather than one. Botany, at Unit C2/11-13 Lord Street, sits inside the airport and Port Botany freight precinct, which is why imported containers, air freight and showroom stock land there first, and it is where delivery and installation work out of. Warehousing, distribution and storage run from our warehouse.
