Warehousing in Sydney
The facility is in Botany, inside the airport and Port Botany freight precinct. For a Sydney brand or importer that is the whole argument: a container cleared at Port Botany is at the door in minutes rather than crossing the city first, and every cross-town leg avoided is a handling event avoided.
Inbound stock is unloaded, counted against the packing list and inspected on arrival, with damage photographed before anything is racked. Finding a cracked marble top on the day of receipt is a conversation with the supplier. Finding it six weeks later when it is picked for a client is a conversation with your client.
Outbound goes three ways: pick and pack to a customer, consolidated project stock released to an install date, or onto the interstate legs to Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Sydney deliveries out of the facility go to the same specialist team, so stock never leaves the building into someone else's hands.
Access in Sydney
CBD towers and strata buildings
Most Sydney CBD and inner-ring towers require a dock booking, a lift booking and a certificate of currency lodged with building management before a team is let in. Dock height limits: commonly between 3.5 and 4.5 metres: decide the vehicle regardless of what the load would prefer. We handle the bookings in whichever name the building wants them.
Eastern Suburbs streets and driveways
Vaucluse, Bellevue Hill, Woollahra, Paddington and Bondi are narrow, parked out and frequently steep. The truck often cannot get near the door, so the walk-in is part of the job: quoted as part of the job, rather than discovered on the morning.
Terraces and walk-ups
Balmain, Surry Hills, Glebe and Newtown terraces are two and three storeys with a staircase that turns. Whether a sofa makes that turn is a measurement, not an opinion. Send the width of the narrowest point and we will tell you before you buy the piece.
How we work
Receiving and inspection
Containers and inbound freight unloaded, counted against the packing list, and inspected. Damage is photographed on arrival and reported to you the same day, while it is still the supplier's problem.
Racked by SKU or by project
Stored the way you work, by line for retail inventory, or consolidated per residence or per fit-out where a designer needs everything to arrive complete.
Inventory visible on request
What is held, in what condition, and what has moved. Stock you cannot see is stock you will over-order.
Common questions
- Do you provide warehousing & distribution in Sydney?
- Yes. Ateam Logistics provides warehousing & distribution throughout Sydney, NSW, including Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Inner West. Every job runs with at least two-person handling, and any piece carrying a finish is handled for it.
- What does warehousing & distribution in Sydney cost?
- Ateam Logistics prices warehousing & distribution on the work rather than by a fixed rate card, because volume, handling and access change it far more than distance does. Send the details and we come back with a proposal.
- How does Ateam Logistics reach Sydney?
- Sydney is home for Ateam Logistics, and it runs from two sites rather than one. Botany, at Unit C2/11-13 Lord Street, sits inside the airport and Port Botany freight precinct, which is why imported containers, air freight and showroom stock land there first, and it is where delivery and installation work out of. Warehousing, distribution and storage run from our warehouse.
