Delivering into Sydney buildings

Sydney is the only city where the truck leaves the depot and arrives at the job on the same run. Botany to the CBD is around twenty minutes outside peak, to the Eastern Suburbs about the same, and to the North Shore or Inner West under an hour, which means a Sydney delivery can be re-planned on the day when a site slips, rather than being a load that has already left the state.

The building decides the job here more than the piece does. A CBD or Barangaroo tower needs the dock and the lift booked and a certificate of currency lodged with management, and its dock height limit sets the vehicle. A Woollahra or Vaucluse address usually means the truck stops short and the piece walks in. A Balmain or Surry Hills terrace means a staircase with a turn at the top, where whether a three-seater makes it is a matter of measuring the narrowest point rather than trying it.

All of that is asked before the truck is loaded. Two people, protection down on floors and doorframes before the piece moves, placement to plan, and the packaging leaves with us.

Access in Sydney

  • Terraces and walk-ups

Balmain, Surry Hills, Glebe and Newtown terraces are two and three storeys with a staircase that turns. Whether a sofa makes that turn is a measurement, not an opinion. Send the width of the narrowest point and we will tell you before you buy the piece.

  • Harbourside and waterfront homes

Waterfront properties from Hunters Hill to Rose Bay routinely have long stair runs down from the street, private lifts or funiculars with tight internal dimensions, and in some cases genuinely no vehicle access at all. These are two-person carries planned in advance, not improvised.

  • Port Botany and airport freight

Botany sits inside the freight precinct, so imported containers and air freight are received, unpacked and inspected the day they land, then racked in our warehouse.

How we work

  • Access is confirmed before the truck is loaded

Dock height and booking window, lift dimensions and whether it needs padding, stair count and the turn at the top, whether a certificate of currency has to be lodged with building management. Most failed deliveries fail here: days earlier, on a detail nobody checked, not on the day.

  • Blanket-wrapped and restrained, not stacked

Pieces travel wrapped and strapped to the vehicle rather than stacked on each other. Fragile items travel upright and separated. Nothing rides loose, because the damage that happens in transit happens at the first hard brake.

  • Handled by people, not moved by machine

The piece is stayed with from the tailgate to its position. Doorframes, lift cars and stair returns get protected before it moves, not after it has already touched them.

Common questions

Do you provide last mile delivery in Sydney?
Yes. Ateam Logistics provides last mile delivery throughout Sydney, NSW, including Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Inner West. Every job runs with at least two-person handling, and any piece carrying a finish is handled for it.
What does last mile delivery in Sydney cost?
Ateam Logistics prices last mile delivery on the work rather than by a fixed rate card, because volume, handling and access change it far more than distance does. Send the details and we come back with a proposal.
How does Ateam Logistics reach Sydney?
Sydney is home for Ateam Logistics, and it runs from two sites rather than one. Botany, at Unit C2/11-13 Lord Street, sits inside the airport and Port Botany freight precinct, which is why imported containers, air freight and showroom stock land there first, and it is where delivery and installation work out of. Warehousing, distribution and storage run from our warehouse.
