Storage sits in the same building as the warehousing operation, which is the point of it. A piece called out of storage goes straight onto a specialist delivery run by the same team: no transfer to a third party, no extra handling in a yard somewhere, no stranger's hands on a client's furniture.

A designer holds a client's existing furniture while the works run, sometimes for months, and needs it to come back placed and levelled rather than dropped in a hallway. Pieces are collected by the team, condition-recorded on the way in, wrapped for the duration rather than for the trip, and racked with fragile and finished items separated.
Being local makes retrieval a delivery lead time rather than a separate wait: The warehouse is around forty minutes from most of the city, so getting something out of storage and into a room is one movement, not two.

Waterfront properties from Hunters Hill to Rose Bay routinely have long stair runs down from the street, private lifts or funiculars with tight internal dimensions, and in some cases genuinely no vehicle access at all. These are two-person carries planned in advance, not improvised.

Botany sits inside the freight precinct, so imported containers and air freight are received, unpacked and inspected the day they land, then racked in our warehouse.
CBD towers and strata buildings
Most Sydney CBD and inner-ring towers require a dock booking, a lift booking and a certificate of currency lodged with building management before a team is let in. Dock height limits: commonly between 3.5 and 4.5 metres: decide the vehicle regardless of what the load would prefer. We handle the bookings in whichever name the building wants them.

Pieces are collected by the same team that will deliver them back, and their condition is recorded on the way in. Storage disputes are always about what a piece looked like when it arrived.
Wrapped for the duration
Wrapped for however long it is staying, not for the trip. Short-term wrapping left on a piece for eight months is its own kind of damage.
Racked, not stacked
Held on racking with fragile and finished items separated. Nothing sits on bare concrete and nothing carries the weight of the thing above it.
