Furniture logistics and warehousing in Sydney

Warehousing & distribution, design installation, last mile delivery and secure storage across Sydney and surrounds.

An Ateam Logistics facility in Sydney: steel racking holding crated stock with branded trucks parked inside.

Two Sydney sites, not one.

Botany sits inside the airport and Port Botany freight precinct, which is why imported containers, air freight and showroom stock land there first. Warehousing and storage run from Moorebank.

Delivering in Sydney

Sydney is four delivery problems wearing one name. The CBD and the harbourside towers are dock-and-lift jobs run to a booking sheet, where the building decides the vehicle before the load does. The Eastern Suburbs are narrow streets, steep driveways and nowhere legal to put a truck. The North Shore is heritage houses set well back behind gardens, gates and stairs. The Inner West is terraces: two and three storeys, a staircase with a turn at the top, and no lift anywhere in the postcode.

None of those are solved on the day. They are solved at quote stage, by asking the questions that decide whether a piece physically fits: the width of the narrowest point, the turn at the top of the stairs, the internal height of the lift car, whether the dock takes a rigid or only a van. A delivery that arrives and cannot get in has cost everybody a day and put the piece back on a truck it should never have been on twice.

Being based in Botany is the operational advantage in this city. Stock can be received from the port, unpacked, checked and held, then delivered across Sydney without the extra cross-town leg most operators build into the job, and every leg avoided is a handling event avoided.

What Sydney asks for

  • CBD towers and strata buildings

Most Sydney CBD and inner-ring towers require a dock booking, a lift booking and a certificate of currency lodged with building management before a team is let in. Dock height limits: commonly between 3.5 and 4.5 metres: decide the vehicle regardless of what the load would prefer. We handle the bookings in whichever name the building wants them.

  • Eastern Suburbs streets and driveways

Vaucluse, Bellevue Hill, Woollahra, Paddington and Bondi are narrow, parked out and frequently steep. The truck often cannot get near the door, so the walk-in is part of the job: quoted as part of the job, rather than discovered on the morning.

  • Terraces and walk-ups

Balmain, Surry Hills, Glebe and Newtown terraces are two and three storeys with a staircase that turns. Whether a sofa makes that turn is a measurement, not an opinion. Send the width of the narrowest point and we will tell you before you buy the piece.

  • Harbourside and waterfront homes

Waterfront properties from Hunters Hill to Rose Bay routinely have long stair runs down from the street, private lifts or funiculars with tight internal dimensions, and in some cases genuinely no vehicle access at all. These are two-person carries planned in advance, not improvised.

  • Port Botany and airport freight

Botany sits inside the freight precinct, so imported containers and air freight are received, unpacked and inspected the day they land, then racked in our warehouse.
