Installing in Brisbane

Brisbane installs arrive on the northern leg from Botany, consolidated with Gold Coast stock. Because the stock is accumulated and checked in Sydney first, a Brisbane site gets one delivery in install order rather than a run of interstate consignments landing whenever each supplier shipped.

On site, the Queenslander sets the terms. The front door sits a storey up behind an external timber staircase, often with a turn and a verandah threshold, and those stairs are a finished surface. They are protected before the first piece moves, not after. Where the house is built into a slope in Paddington, Bardon or Red Hill, the truck parks where it can park safely and the carry is planned from there.

Climate is part of the install plan rather than an afterthought. Pieces are unwrapped on arrival instead of sitting sealed in a hot vehicle, timber is not left standing in humidity waiting for a room to be ready, and a wet-season storm moves the day rather than being worked through. A summer downpour here is not a delay anyone argues with.

Access in Brisbane

  • Queenslanders and stair carries

Raised timber homes on stumps with external stairs and a verandah turn are the norm in Paddington, Bardon, Ascot and Clayfield. The landing turn, not the stair width, is usually what stops a large piece. These are measured at quote stage so the right number of people arrive.

  • CBD tower docks

Brisbane CBD and South Bank towers run booked dock windows with posted height limits, and the one-way street grid means a missed window is not simply a matter of circling the block. Docks are booked ahead and the vehicle is matched to the clearance.

  • Storm season and humidity

From roughly November to March, afternoon storms arrive quickly and heavily. Nothing is unwrapped outdoors or left on a verandah waiting for a client. Unsealed timber and unwaxed stone in particular do not tolerate the humidity here.

How we work

  • Protection first

Floors, doorframes, lift cars and stair returns protected before anything moves. Retro-fitting protection after the first scratch is not protection.

  • Assembled, placed and levelled

To the floor plan where there is one, to the designer's direction where there isn't. Legs levelled, doors and drawers aligned, cables dressed out of sight.

  • Styled and finished

Art hung, lighting positioned, rugs laid and set square, cushions and accessories placed. Finished to the standard the shoot will be held to.
